Title: Side Effects

Summary: After killing Voldemort, Harry had planned on taking a long overdue vacation. However, Harry is Fate’s favorite toy, and she has plans. Two hexes and an accidental portal later, Harry finds himself dropped in the middle of another reality where people fear magic and a Sorceress is intent on taking over the world.
Pairings: one sided Quistis/Squall, hints of future Irvine/Selphie
Warnings: Swearing, death, violence, and eventual slash as the main pairing.
Author’s notes: *does the happy dance* I finished the breakout! I finished the breakout! I finished the breakout! Okay, I’ll stop now. What you really need to know is I played around with Quezacotl’s summon, how Squall’s gunblade work, and the effects junctions have on weapons. It will affect all weapons in the story, the gunblade just happens to be the first example that came to mind when writing this chapter. Oh, a squinch is a cross of a squish and a crunch.
Chapter Notes: Harry and Quistis have a mini-clash, Irvine feels like an idiot, Squall has weapon attachment issues and scares the shit out of everyone. And of course, a creepy teleporting dog and a game of Hit the Pedestrian.

Author’s notes: I like to think the wizarding world is less prejudiced than the muggle world. Realistically, my best guess is the only stupidity they don’t share with their muggle counterparts is hatred based on skin color. Unfortunately, they’ve replaced it with hate based on bloodlines. So, um, yeah…as much as I’d like Ron in this story to be the open minded person I wrote him to be in ‘A Polyjuice Mishap’, he’s not. Although Ron’s not as bad as I thought he was going to be.
Chapter Notes: As I’m trying to work the little glimpses of the HP verse into the story instead of having them as intermissions or breaks, this chapter starts off with Ron and we find out who made the photo album, then it goes back to the prison where Harry’s presence creates the first major hiccup in the FFVIII timeline (which allows me to tackle two of the things that always bug me when I play the game).

Author’s notes: There’s a bit of Zell and Selphie’s dialogue taken straight from the game here and I’m expanding the Moombas' vocabulary a tiny, tiny bit. I know they’re supposed to only say Laguna, but they also ask which floors you want help with during the breakout so a messed up version of guard isn’t a big stretch. Also, the scene with Squall and Seifer during the game is gone.
Chapter Notes: This chapter starts off by going a touch backwards in time to when Harry and Rinoa enter the prison.

Title: Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Summary: Reflections aren't always pleasant things, especially when they show you things you never want to see. Rinoa finds that out when she finds a mirror into another world.
Pairings: Squall/Rinoa, Squall/Harry
Warnings: I don’t think there are any this time. Maybe a slight obsessive-ness from Rinoa but that’s about it.
Timeline: Ultimecia’s castle
Author’s notes: I’m going to try to sneak this into Side Effects later, probably as in intermission, but I’d thought I’d post it now since I’ve been gone so long. I was trying to capture Rinoa’s emotional needy-ness by having her crave Squall’s attention, but totally missing the quiet signs he cares deeply for her. I’m not sure I got it right.

Summary: After killing Voldemort, Harry had planned on taking a long overdue vacation. However, Harry is Fate’s favorite toy, and she has plans. Two hexes and an accidental portal later, Harry finds himself dropped in the middle of another reality where people fear magic and a Sorceress is intent on taking over the world.
Pairings: HP verse: Hermione/Ron, Tonks/Remus, Molly/Arthur, Bill/Fleur, past Harry/Ginny. FF VIII verse: Cid/Edea, one sided Rinoa/Squall, one sided Quistis/Squall, eventual/possible Selphie/Irvine, eventual Zell/library girl (who as of right now does not have a name I like), and eventual Squall/Harry.
Warnings: Swearing, death, teenage stupidity, and eventual slash as the main pairing.
Spoilers: For all six books and the game.
Author’s Notes: This is the only part were I’m listing out all the pairings, major and minor pairings in both worlds, the other chapters will only have pairings that apply to that chapter. When the other pairings solidify later (mostly FF VIII pairings), I’ll add or, in Zell’s case, correct them here. The game, when it wasn’t focused on the main plot, revolved around romance, so I’m expecting there to be a couple more (I’m also resisting the urge to throw in hints of Neville/Luna, so you may see that). However, I’m not expecting most of the pairings to be serious since they’re teenagers. I’m also editing the heck out of this thing—grammar, spelling, wording, adjusting characterization here and there, adding bits and pieces, taking out others. Characterization wise, I’ve mostly spent time adjusting how Squall and Harry come across, not so much with the others. If you spot anything too out there or not quite right for any character here, please let me know. Same goes for any mistakes I missed or created while editing.
